In early 2000, Matt Mosher had a vision to start his own landscape company. Armed with pictures of projects he completed in his parents backyard, Matt headed out on a spring Saturday to pitch his new company- Mosher & Associates. Half way down the street, Matt was ecstatic as he had landed his first two jobs, which included weeding flower beds and installing wood chips under a swing set. Unsure of where to get wood chips, Matt hit the yellow pages and found a supplier. Two days later, with the projects complete, Matt was officially in business.
By the second summer, Matt now had several of his high school friends working with him and the projects were getting bigger. Matt got his big break that summer when a well known author was looking at a flyer Matt had put in his mailbox and saw that Matt was a so called expert in water features. Upon meeting with the perspective client, it was clear to Matt that he was way over his head. True to his entrepreneurial spirit, Matt was not going to turn the project down. Instead, he would spend several hours at Home Depot studying ‘How To’ books on installing cement footings, building water features and all other necessary topics related to building the project. By that fall, Matt had installed a 50 foot long waterfall with three levels pumping 10,000 gallons a minute over huge rocks set by excavators. The project won several awards and was featured in various magazines. Today, the waterfall still runs like it did the day it was built.
Since then, Mosher & Associates has completed hundreds of unique projects. Through perseverance and hard work, we are now a highly sophisticated firm in the landscape and building industry with projects throughout the United States. Beyond designing and building projects, we also operate a full scale estate maintenance company with hundreds of clients in the metro Detroit area.
Matt was the founder of Mosher & Associates in 2000 and has been extremely dedicated in the building of Mosher & Associates to what it is today. Matt is committed to maintaining the highest-level landscape design, construction, and maintenance firm for Metro Detroit’s most discerning clientele. Matt is responsible as chief operating officer for the long-term goals and direction of Mosher & Associates.
Katy has been in the gardening industry for 20+ years. Katy has thorough knowledge in all aspects of residential gardening maintenance and specializes in customized container and annual design. Katy prides herself in providing great customer service and is praised by her clientele as being one of the best in her field.
Jamie has been involved in horticulture for the past 15+ years. She turned to the industry after spending the majority of her life working with her grandparents in the horticultural industry. Jamie oversees our gardening division as a whole and also acts as a project manager for many of our clientele. Jamie’s ability to lead is unparalleled and is evidenced by the constant positive feedback we receive from her clients.
Deanna has 15+ years of business management experience in the landscape design and construction industry. Deanna is responsible for the building of systems, coordinating material deliveries and selection, billing, client relations, personnel, accounting and scheduling. In addition to this, Deanna serves as Executive Assistant to Matthew Mosher and manages the day-to-day operations of the gardening division.
In 1998, Jason started his career mowing lawns. Over the years, he became highly respected and is oftened referred to as the best mowing specialist in the industry. After contracting with Mosher & Associates for 10+ years, Jason joined our team in 2014. Jason is directly responsible for overseeing the mowing operations for all of our properties.
Bill has been installing landscapes for 10+ years. Bill specializes in softscape and hardscape installation. His ability to interpret plans to implement the highly sophisticated landscape we install is unmatched. Bill has installed some of Detroit’s most prized landscapes and is respected in the industry as one of the top landscape builders.
Jayson joined the Mosher team while he was still in high school. After graduating college, he came back as a project foreman. Today he is now the head of the maintenance department. His duties include overseeing and managing all activities that take place within the department.
Sheryl has 20+ years of experience running all aspects of business. In 2016 Sheryl joined the Mosher team and oversees numerous aspects of our businesses including accounts receivable, accounts payable, client proposals and special projects. We are honored to have Sheryl as part of the Mosher team.
Rob joined the Mosher team in 2015 and brings vast experience in design and project management. Graduating from Michigan States Landscape Program, Rob is highly educated in all aspects of the landscape industry. Rob is responsible for assisting Matt Mosher with bringing design’s to fruition and working with our clients during the implementation process.
Carlos joined the Mosher team in 2014 as an intern. Carlos is now the lead design specialist at our company. Well versed in all computer aided design software, Carlos is responsible for transferring designs into construction detail documents that are used in the field to build our projects. Carlos also assists with numerous other aspects of our businesses.
Rob is a third generation Mason who specializes in highly sophisticated masonry work. We are privileged to have Rob on our team. With 25+ years of experience, Rob builds some of the finest masonry projects in the country. Rob also assists with overseeing several other masons on the Mosher team.
Shawn oversees our gardening crews and is in charge of quality control for the properties we service. Shawn’s ability to manage multiple crews, assist clients with their needs and keep a close eye on ensuring quality work is unmatched. Shawn also assists with custom flower installations and other small projects.
Georgette is the classic example of dedication. Georgette started with the company as a project laborer. She continually absorbed, learned and strived to do better. Georgette now runs all of the maintenance crews employed by Mosher & Associates.
